I have loved
art as far back as I can remember. When my friends went to summer camp,
I went to art classes and loved it! After graduating college with a
major in telecommunications and a minor in Art, it took me many years to
decide which medium to concentrate my creativity in. I did animation,
2D/3D graphic art, pastels, watercolors, ceramics and a bit of jewelry
making. But when I discovered carved and fused glass, I knew that was my
calling.
I have studied glass at Corning in Elmira, NY and at Bullseye in Portland Oregon. Through the years I have expanded my knowledge and love of glass through classes with Roger Thomas, Linda Either, Gerry Newcomb, Denise Stillwaggon Leone, and Catherine Newell. My style is to use multiple layers of glass to create a three dimensional look. This is very challenging for me because it is never the same, which makes each piece unique. Although painting glass landscapes is my favorite in fusing glass, I have fallen in love with creating glass sculptures in a form called kiln casting. My goal is to have people enjoy glass art as much as I do. My works are exhibited at Grand Lake Art Gallery, Lakewood Culture Center, Arlene Siegal Gallery in Santa Fe, NM and Grovewood in Asheville, NC. Last year I was invited to my first international Glass show from Mostly Glass Gallery in Wheaton Village, N.J. Where I made the cover of their catalog. If you have something special in mind, I am available for commission work. |
